I hear many war stories photographers share and I'm sure I'll have one to one of these days(hope in many many many years later). But for now I have nothing but a beautiful stories to tell. Now, that's blessing :)Luis and Rosa are like dream couple many wedding photographers dream about.You know as wedding photographer, we have to make sure days going just right and make sure bride and groom are calm and relaxed for the great pictures and for the event. Will these two are so cool, they were making sure I was comfortable and that I was enjoying taking pictures of their wedding. Now, is that cool or is that cool. :)Very down to earth, relaxed and most of all they really do treat others like they want to be treated and it was my honor to share their most important day and to document it.Here are some pics from that day.

Rosa's sister had this beautiful painting and I just had to put the Bride into the painting.

Luis was filled with joy and was not afraid to show his emotion(takes real man to show tears).

We did the session at his high school and it was fun session. KwangMin is very talented young man. He's into tennis, martial arts, piano and violin. We wish him well on his study at University.

The Legend of Holly Claus: Part 3

Well ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to final 3rd edition of The Legend of Holly Claus: the Christmas Princess. This was very fun evening. After the show we all went outside to light up the Holly Claus tree. Alot of people were out there to cheer Brittney Ryan (aka. Holly Claus) on and it was just too awesome.

Holly Claus part 2

Hello everyone. I know I've been away for a bit, but I have great excuse. Got myself a new toy and that new toy is 17" macbook pro. Need I say more.....hehehe been busy playing around with it lost the track of time. Moving from PC to Mac is a bit different, but not as bad as other might say. As I'm blogging here my Macbook Pro is getting loaded with all brand new must have software for photographers. So, I'm very excited.
Now, here is the part 2 of the Holly Claus. These are never before seen images of their 1st ever stage show. That is the reason for ridiculous amount of my Logo stamps on the pictures. I've been waiting to see what they wanted to do with the images, but it's taking too long and I think I owe it to my readers to show the Holly Claus event.

Holly Claus-part 1

Last December, I had an honor of working for Forever Entertainment.
Brittney Ryan is the Author and the star of Holly Claus.
They came to perform their very first stage act here at El Paso Plaza Theater.
We here people saying being at the right place at the right time makes things happen. Well, God really knows how to put right people at the right place at the right time. This was all possible because I met Dusty. Now, she is an angel. I'm sure anyone that knows Dusty will agree with me.
As far as I know, one of the photo I took has been published in a publishers weekly(I'm still trying to find out on which issue haha.). They are also talking about using my photos in their story book and on their websites. Let's see how this story play out.
Either way I'm very thankful to Dusty and Brittney for allowing me to be part of wonderful event.
I also had honor of meeting alot of people that evening. I'll be showing more as I post this event in 3 parts. There are so many pictures, just can't decide which ones are the best ones to show. haha.
Anyways, here is the part one. Pre-show. Enjoy.....

Happy Anniversary: el paso korean newspaper

Well, it's been a year already. As you all know(I think), my other job is being a photojournalist for El Paso Korean Newspaper. I'm happy to tell you our newspaper survived 1st year. Although it's a volunteer job for a non-profit organization, it was and is great job. I get to meet alot of people and I get to get in to those place where cameras are prohibited. Isn't that cool or what? Also, it's a great practice time for me as I am a professional photographer. Once you stop learning and practicing then you are no good at whatever you are doing. As a professional photographer I want to make sure my clients gets full satisfaction rather they are paying thousands of dollars or even just a penny. Anyways, I thank God for giving me an opportunity to serve my community and also to practice and learn new and old things about photography. Happy Anniversary El Paso Korean Newspaper. :)

This was little while back, but here is. Mr. Chung is an education director at our church and we were invited to Mr. and Mrs. Chung's house warming party. Of course what good is a photographer without his camera, I took my camera and took some shots.

This shot of the house came out pretty good. I say that because Mrs. Chung loved it. :)

Casting Crowns: The Altar and the Door Tour 2007

Well, I'm finally posting this. Due to internet being down, I couldn't post anything. Anyways, here I am and hoping my blog readers are still around. :) Last September 28, 2007 Casting Crowns came to El Paso with John Waller and Leeland. I had honor of meeting Casting Crowns at the backstage and also to cover the concert. If any of you out there have chance to see Casting Crowns Concert, I say Go. You will not be disappointed. John Waller and Leeland opened for Casting Crowns and I'm sorry to say, I don't have any shot of John Waller. I didn't get him because I was at the backstage getting shots of Casting Crowns meeting fans. I'm only posting these few shots, it was hard picking which ones to put up here. May be I'll get some time to make a slide and post the slide show of the concert one day. Here are few shots from the evening. Here is Leeland, very gifted young man (sings, plays guitar, piano and also write songs). I left out rest of his band do to cut back. :)

Do you all see the painter on the left corner? He made that drawing live on the stage. They were telling me that picture went for $500. Is that cool or what?

Here's Mark Hall, got a chance to talk to him(very very short conversation) and also shook his hand. Is that cool or what.
Hector, this brother is cool. At the end of the concert he took his time out to chat with the fans and he also chat with me too. Way too cool.

Middle of the concert Casting Crowns took time out to pray for people. This was so nice of them. Of course Mark brought some wonderful message as well. This was the most beautiful view I saw that evening. During the prayers offered by Casting Crowns, this came to my attention thanks to Lisa(event security member). I wasn't sure if this shot was possible being dark and all. I took 3 try and got one. I believe God wanted me to capture this shot. (You try hand holding on at 1/5 sec) Through the hardship, this mother and son didn't gave up on God and still worshipped and praised and prayed. Can't get any beautiful than this. Well, my friends take a little time out and think about it. God bless you all.

Rock the Rio 2007

I trust you all are doing just well.
This past Saturday, Local Youth Ministry Association got together at the Cohen Stadium to throw a concert. This concert was design to help kids come to Christ.
There were concession stands, jumping balloons and 9 local christian bands showed up to participate. Of course can't leave out a message to kids.
This event went from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. I on the other hand got there about 7 p.m. and stayed about 2 hours grabbing some shots.
Anyways, here are some highlights from the event.

Here's one of the christian band playing.( sorry I didn't get a chance to get their names) Here's shot of people enjoying the concert under the big canopy. This was a cool shot I thought. hahaha (I know what you all are thinking, now stop that) hahaha.

Well, not too good of reporting here.

But I have good excuse, I was a bit under the weather. hahaha.

Oh, I also met another photographer. That is so cool.

Baby Junho: Session 2

Wow. I haven't post over 1 and half week. I know this post should of been up since long time ago, but I wanted to make this session special for Junho's family.
Sorry to make you all wait so long.
Anyways, this is Junho from baby junho: session 1. This is part 2 of 3 part series I'm doing for his family.
I had so many great pictures of the baby baptism and birthday party I just couldn't post few pictures. So, to say thank you for being patient with me, I made some collage of part 2 session.

Junho with his parents. This here is a fun traditional thing Koreans do at 1st birthday. It's called 'dor jab y' what it is, is that they lay out alot of items and see which item baby goes to grab. It determines his future. ha ha, of course that is just for fun. Look what he grabbed, his going to be either doctor or pastor. Like I said, it's for fun. Then again who knows. Ha ha.

Back to School: 2007-2008

Summer has came and it's on it's way out, which means it is time for young ones to go back to school. This Monday morning my boy put on his uniform and got his back pack, all excited and ready to go back to school. He was excited to see his old friends and make new friends and to see who's his new teacher is going to be. So, we went out the door and off to his school and got there about 20 minutes early. Beautiful morning, flag flying high, sun shining and school yard begin to fill up with students and parents and teachers. Now, what good is photographer without his camera and naturally I was grabbing some shots of that morning. Something about blue sky, sunlight and sun flare.

This is my boy's new teacher. Beautiful, isn't she?
HaHa. After my son and his friends begin their way to their new classroom, we headed our way to the parking lot. And naturally, I had to take a picture of my baby. So, here I am getting ready to grab a frame and my baby raised up the camera that I gave to hold and she took a picture of me as I took a picture of her.
What great morning that was. I pray my son and his friends and all those that started and are about to start their new school year to have fun, safe and educational year.

Hey everyone, how are you all?
I know I've been missing alot of days of posting, really there's no excuse and I'll try to be more faithful.
Anyways, I'll be posting baby junho part 2 soon.
I've been thinking, when I see platinum bride or bridezilla. They always mention florist, catering, wedding dress, reception and all that but one. Where is the photographer? I know they have photographer.... I think I only saw one photographer being mentioned. Those wedding show producers need to wake up and show some wedding photographers.
Do you all not agree with me here?

Baby Junho

This past Sunday I had a photo session with little Junho and his parents. Ii is a 3 part session. one is the baby portrait and another is to cover his baptism and his 1st B-day next month.

Hmm. this looks abit like wedding coverage.

Tonight there was youth revival with all the youth from various Korean Churches in town. Full Gospel Missions Church hosted the event. Started from 10 a.m. and went up till about 9:30 p.m. Youth Pastor Adrian from Open Door Presbyterian church and Youth Pastor Jason from Full Gospel Mission Church gave the sermon and off course your truly from First Korean Baptist Church took care of the photography.(you knew I have to shout out to my church kids.) haha. It is always wonderful to see adults giving up there time to attend to the kids. After all they are our future. It's always good to get the kids from various church into one location and become one. After all it's not my church vs. your church. It is one church. We proclaim Jesus is The Lord. This are some shots of the last hour of tonight's event. There was few testimony given by youth.
Given the chance these kids will amaze you. Talk about prayer warriors.

Over all it is always blessing to praise and worship our maker, our king and our savior. We used 1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18 for topic of the Day.

16 Rejoice always;
17 pray without ceasing;
18 in everything give thanks;

for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

I pray my wonderful readers be blessed with these verses in their heart.

2007 Golf tournament

2007 El Paso, Texas Open Golf tournament was held at Painted Dunes Course.
After the tournament, there was dinner and award ceremony held at Kal Bi House.

Photographer's Note: This is one of those days when nothing great gets captured. I have great excuse, nothing was setup properly and most of the people that was to receive an award had left. Ha! Although not a great picture, but better than nothing.

Transformers

Everyone remembers good old cartoon where cars and planes and so on change into giant robots. Good vs. Evil. As technology in film industry gets advanced they are able to bring cartoons to almost like a real life characters. CGI isn't it wonderful?
I guess when movies or shows are created, theme or should I say the spirit of that production changes as well. Cartoon transformers was people friendly even to the kids. But this CGI version of transformers movie lost that friendly view at some point. Use to be where transformers were cool, awesome robots in disguise, but now they are a bit goofy, Their language I was not to crazy about either. Perhaps because transformers learned English on Internet. Before no transformers got destroyed, but now transformers dies just like people would. Bust most of all bumble bee was called bumble bee because he was vw bug, but now his an awesome looking camero. I guess bumble bee deserve the upgrade. Over all it was ok of a movie, perhaps because I was comparing it to the old version. What I didn't like was it had bad language. Yes, it's pg-13. But still that wasn't called for. So it would of been a great movie if it left out some bad language and transformers were less goofy and didn't mix up some characters.
I have feeling they will be making transformers part 2. I guess enough said, don't want to ruin the movie for others. Thanks for reading.

I'm so sorry to make you all wait so long to tell you all what those balloons were doing on my blog. I thought it would be neat to try apples marketing strategy. hehehe. I know I'm terrible. This might be blessing to some and boring to others. Do leave a comment, if it was blessing or if it was boring.
Anyways, last Saturday was July 7 of 2007. Which spelled out to 7-7-7. Lucky number!!! To most people this was a lucky day... people headed out to casinos to try their lucks and others wanted to be married on this day, because once again it was a lucky day. Some people reserved this day to get married about 2 years back. Busy day for most wedding photographers, no shortage of clients on that Saturday for sure. I know you all are thinking, OK so you shot a wedding so what? I did too. To tell you the truth, I didn't go shot a wedding instead I was out at 5:30 a.m. on a newspaper assignment.(that and as favor for my friend) Anyways, #7 to Christians represent perfect number. meaning God. So, on this day which marked 777 was a perfect day for Christians to proclaim Jesus once more. Calling the people and entire city to repent and to stop the idolatry's. Many people gather this day on various locations to proclaim the name of Jesus Christ by releasing 7000 red balloons with a gold ribbon.
As you can see this was 1 of the locations and they had plenty of balloons.
There was police officers being on guard for safety of people at the plaza. Also, Mayor even attended the event.
Not just the Christians, but even homeless showed up and was able to enjoy some food.
Here is Mayor getting ready and releasing of the balloons at exactly 7 a.m.
As balloon Begin to take to the sky, people begin to blow their shofars.

Then Christians prayed for the City Mayor and presented him with a painting.
And then they prayed for him some more.(Boy does he need it.)
At the end people of the world celebrated this day as lucky day trying their luck, for Christians they used this day to lift up the name of Jesus Christ.
I liked the view of balloons rising over glimpse of the building and the clouds and the blue sky.
Looks like God was smiling to his people.

Anyways, this was the Saturday event I covered for my newspaper and if you have read this to this point, WOW. God Bless You. Also, thank you for being a such wonderful support. It's no fun blogging if nobody cares. Big huggs and kisses to my regular readers.

Olympus under test.

I trust everyone had wonderful weekend. As you know I recently got that Olympus sw770 point and shoot camera. It's waterproof down to 33ft. I had to find out if in fact it can hold it's own or not. Because of this reason none of the pictures have any type of color correction. No adjustments. It's straight out of the camera.
Here are some test shots underwater of my kids and their cousins at the Wet and Wild Water park.
Who knew my son is able to open his eyes under water.

My niece enjoying under water scene.
My daughter goes under water to show she can do it too.
My nephew "me too....."

I was surprised to see this p&s camera really lived up to it's advertisement. It is without a question waterproof. I think for a p&s camera it took not bad of picture underwater.

Although there is one downside about this camera and that's battery life. It might be because I charged it 2 days before, but battery died on me after few hours. Perhaps it would of been a different story if I had a full charge, but still bit short battery life for my taste.

Over all I think for what it's worth, it's a good toy to have.

As my good friend Crystal suggested,

I'm ready to get some cool underwater TTD shots. Don't know when, but soon.

Also, It takes not bad of snap shots outside of the water as well.

Look at these 2 handsome dudes kicking back.

Over all it's not bad of camera. I'm happy because I can be in the picture now.
I'll be ever more happier when I'm able to post some under water TTD shots.

Olympus

As a professional photographer we all carry nothing less than a DSLR with whole bunch of glasses ( it's not exactly a light weight). Try taking a self portrait with these babies..... So, what do we do? We get ourselves some point and shot camera. But to spend few Benjamin on P&S is a bit painful when you think about no profit on this investment.

So, I was shopping around and found this....

Notice on the sign, 'waterproof 33ft. It seems this camera is able to shot under water and you can drop it from 5ft and also can shot below freezing and somebody weighing 200 pound can sit on it and it'll keep on ticking.

Now, I don't know how good this Olympus sw 770 is but I'm going to find out when I take it out on a field test over the weekend to water park.

If all works out then this camera will be few Benjamin well spent in 2 ways.

1. I can finally get into the water with my family and still take pictures.
2. It could pay itself off in time.

But most of all I'm happy because I can have fun in the water and also have fun taking pictures.

HEHEHE. (man, I'm goofy)

So many things I want to say to express about my Dad.
For us he gave all and there is no words that can justify our thanks to him.
Because of my dad and my children, I have better and esier tme of understanding how to have that personal relationship with My Lord.
I am Son and I am Father, it is amazing how God uses little things and circumstance or whatever it might be to help us to understand what PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP is like.

you just have to go to SETTINGS and click on COMMENTS and at the bottom type in your email address on COMMENT NOTIFICATION ADDRESS. Now, people can go and comment on a post that was made 10 years ago and you'll get the notification saying there's comment on that particular comment.

Namsu Part 2: Graduation

This is Namsu's graduation. Talk about being smart, Namsu is number 4 student. Out of all those students, he rank #4. That is some accomplishment.

Here are some shots from the graduation and with friends and family. This was taking place on the 50 yard line in the middle of the football field and I'm shooting from the stadium. For what it's worth, it grabbed ok(I think... hmmm). All these kids in white are top 10 ranking students.

Kids are tired, but parents are... well as you can see I'm sure they felt like they could fly. They should, after all their boy graduated as #4 student.

Stallion Girl

Namsu: Class of 2007

This is Namsu. He graduates from Americas High. When I say graduate, I don't mean just graduate. NamSu graduates as #4 student. Very smart young man. He will be attending U.T. Austin, studying computers.

He is very talented young man. He plays flute as you can see and also he plays guitar. He also spend his time serving his local church as praise team leader. Because he participates in many activities, we couldn't get right time to do his senior picture. But we managed to pull some time off in the evening. I like to grab night shots. It gives very interesting perspective of surroundings. Anyways, I want to thank Namsu for his time and giving me an opportunity to photograph him.

Even the moon was dancing to the sound of his flute.

I don't know why, but I like color reflection on black and white picture. May be I'll make this as one of my calling cards. (just thinking out loud)

Like a Lone Ranger

About 4 years ago, Pastor Joe came to our church and begun English Ministry. Like a Lone Ranger, he helped our youth in the church. He was more than the Pastor to the youth, he was their friend. Because of this all the kids loved him and followed him. He also has great sense of humor as you can see here in this picture. He's now back at seminary school studying for his masters in divinity. We wish him all the best. Many youth found out what it's like to be following Christ with help of Pastor Joe. We are managing our English ministry without a new pastor, but until God provide us with new pastor we will manage. Pastor Joe is great Pastor, because he taught us how to stand on our own in Christ. That is the reason why we are able to go on, he taught not to depend on one person but to depend on Jesus Christ. He was sad to go as you can see here, but it is God's will and I'm sure Christ has something else in mind to use Pastor Joe. Also, it is great opportunity to practice what he taught during his time here.
We had praise and worship and then had going away party. No party is complete without a shower of strings.
Kids gathered to wish him farewell.

Wow. It's already June 1st. Time sure flies.
I didn't realize how busy Month of May can be.
Alot of graduation to start with, I'll be posting few of graduation shoots and some promotional to upper grade shots. These are some amazing kids, very smart.
We also had a going away party for my pastor, as he took his new journey and I'll be posting that as well. So, whoever is interested I say to you.....stay tuned.

YaeJin: Class of 2007

This is YaeJin. As you can see she is a senior, class of 2007. One of the future leaders. After graduation she will be attending U.T. Austin. She's very humble and very kind young lady. She also love Lord Jesus Christ and she's in a youth praise band.
She came to me last Sunday in need of some senior pictures to hand out to her friends, because she is so active in school and in church that she didn't have anytime to get her pictures done. So, we decided to met later in the afternoon at her school. Weird thing was out of the blue heavy wind begin to blow when we were about to shoot. But we managed.

Here are few from the school.

After shooting at the school, we decided switch location and go to downtown for some night shots when sun went down. Mean while at the downtown there still some light so we took advantage of that and grab some shots at the plaza.

How do you like this contrast?

Finally sun went down and night lights came on and we had fun with our surrounding.
Notice even Plaza theater was announcing YaeJin's graduation. :)
Can you tell, I like getting evening shoots.

Well, enough for now. I want to thank YaeJin for trusting me to deliver her senior pictures in 1 day. I'm glad everything worked out.

Today at Lone Star Golf Course held 2007 El Paso, Texas Open. Many people participated and off course many awards were handed out. After the game Golf Association went to

Cha's Restaurant for dinner and awards ceremony.

This being a Mothers Day, I think it's very obvious that I should talk about my mom. It has been already 3 decades since we first put our foot down in State side. Without knowing any English, with dreams of providing good future for their kids my parent started a new adventure in United States of America. It was a tough journey. They worked where ever they can find a job. Cool thing was that where ever they worked, their employer had nothing but the good things to say about them. One day I asked my mom, why did you worked so hard for those employers? She answered, "We were so thankful that they would hire us, so to show how much we were thankful we gave our all." My parents are great examples of when Jesus said, " when someone ask you to go 1 mile, go with them 2 miles." They were great examples to us.
Then, Lord blessed our family and allowed us to have our own business. Already been 2 decades, during this time alot of good and bad things happened. But even then my mom and dad always managed to take care of us. I saw my mom that she would gladly trade her life for will being of her children. She sacrificed it all just so we can have good future. There are so many things to put here so the readers of my blog can understand how great my mom is, but if I did that this blog would get overloaded.
This one thing is for sure, because of my parents I had very easy understanding of unconditional love that Jesus gave to us. I'm always thankful to my Lord Jesus Christ for my family.
One of the phrase I learned from the world of photographer is the term,'you're rock star' I guess that means 'you're cool, you're great.' Whatever that means, my mom is all that and more. So, in honor of my mom on mothers day I think it's just right to post some pics of my beautiful mom. So, keeping mind how cool my mom is I went with the theme of Album cover.

Theme title: 'Beauty in the Desert.'

My mom also likes to take care of her rose garden. I don't know how she does it, working all day long and then come home and take care of these roses.

This is one of the rose that grew with her tender caring. Tried to capture the beauty of the tender loving care. (I think it came out like a hallmark card cover.) :)

Today was my son's birthday. He turned 10 years old. We always make him a huge birthday party for him. But this year rather than having a big party, we just had a quiet evening dinner just the family. Cool thing about it is that my boy didn't mind that we didn't have a big party. He was satisfy. This just showed me how much he has matured and also showed, you don't have to have big party to have fun. When family is together in one place to share your special moment, rather it's a big party or it's a quiet dinner, family being there is what matters.

When people ask to reserve a date to document a special day in their life, I don't know about you, but sure makes my day. It's not about money(don't get me wrong,it's great to make money doing what you love), but it's more about being able to create another special images for that certain someone who hired you. This little young man here is going to be 1 year old very soon and I've been asked to document his very 1st birthday. It's an honor really, because it's very important birthday for Koreans. Anyways, I took a quick shot of the baby and his mommy and off course did some photo magic.... So, let me know what you think about this picture. You can either comment here or e-mail me.

Children's Day Message

May 5 is a children's day in Korea. Children just love this day, because they get to have toys, toys, toys.
But seriously, when Whitney Houston sang that song saying "children are our future, raise them well....." she hit the nail right on the head. As an adult and specially as christian, we need to do all we can to help our children in their walk in life.
I've been involved in youth ministry for about 2 years, helping Pastor Joe as he guided youth to walk the right path. I'm very proud of the youth in our church, they have matured so much during this time. Some are graduating and moving on to the University in other cities, I hope and pray they always keep Jesus Christ in their heart and continue to glorify Jesus in all things they do.
Also, remember never be afraid to say you are Christian. Lord blesses those that are faithful. I for one don't care if people don't want to hire me to take their pictures because I'm a Christian. I know there are plenty of people that will hire me because I'm a Christian.
No matter if those that hire me to document their special moment is Christian or not Christian, I will do my very best to satisfy them. Would it not be great to hear people saying 'if you want something done rigth you should have Christian do it.' (I hope I didn't confuse anyone yet.)
I believe My Lord will give me the strength and My Lord will provide.
So, kids remember never compromise just to be popular or just to have friends or just to get a job. If some don't like you because you are Christian don't worry, because there are aways people that will like you because you are Christian.

tornado in the El Paso

Wow people, can you believe this? Tornado warning in El Paso and Chapparal and if that wasn't enough, people saw actual tornado touching down. Thank God nobody got hurt and it's behind us now. wild flowers

This past Sunday, I received a phone call from our senior Pastor asking me if I can go out to our new church site. Reason being Pastor Lee went out to the future church site and saw some wild flowers(purple ones at that). He asked if I can document those flowers for church Archie.
I agree to do it but later in the week. However earlier sky was dark and it was raining cats and dogs, by the evening it was nothing but the blue sky. So I drove out to the site to document those wild flowers for church archive. That rain earlier really worked out will forthe documentation. Nice contrast of heaven and earth. I only hope our senior pastor and rest of the congregation would like the pictures.

Dion's Piano Recital 4-22-2007

On this fine Sunday afternoon, my family and I head out to Chamizal National Memorial Theatre. Dion was scheduled to perform in a recital that was sponsored by El Paso Music Teacher Association/Student Affiliate. There were 20 pianist that attended the recital and in my opinion they all did such an amazing job. Of course as Dad, my boy sounded the best. I'm so proud of my boy, he also plays Cello and he is just one test away from achieving black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Reward of being photographer

Being a photographer is fun and challenging. New people, new environment and you also get not so satisfy customers and very satisfy customers. I always wonder why God opened the door into photography for me. I think I learned why. It's a ministry of it's own. It's about bringing joy into their hearts. To help them re-live their life and to remember how they were feeling at that particular moment.
I also realize that one picture is worth more then a thousand words and it is their treasure. Like people say beauty is in the eye of beholder, I think that applies to pictures as well. Picture might look plain, but to that person in that picture it is not so plain. Hmmm. Did I lose anyone yet? As you know, I'm a photojournalist for The El Paso Korean News Paper and I was covering youth revival. During this time I took some pictures of Anna and her kids and she was asking for it and asking for it. Of course I made her wait. hehehe. I know I know I'm so nice guy. So I made her wait some more. Well, I finally got some time and I put her pictures into collage photo and I took it to her. When I saw her face expression, she was very pleased with it and little later on when I look at her looking at her pictures..... maybe it was me, but she looked to have teary eyes. I think I knew why, that's when I realized why God opened the door for me to take the path of photographer. I was so happy to be a photographer. I know I know. One of these days I'm going to run into some clients that are going to make me wish I wasn't a photographer, but Anna Made my day.

I tell you this collage photo might look plain to most of you, but to her it was a rush of memory. At least that's what I think. But I know this for sure, she was very happy.

This is Priscilla. I would say she's fun filled and beautiful person.

She was a bit shy at the beginning, but she was just natural at photo shoot.

I think she could just will give a magazine models run for their money.

Her daughter Ashely was a great assistant to this photo shoot. So, we tried to spice it up a little for Priscilla's husband and it was blast. Of course towards the end we got her husband into the shoot as well. Anyways, I want to thank Priscilla and her family for fun filled afternoon.

This is Alieya. I had the honor of shooting Young Lady Alieya over the weekend. She's just adorable little Princess. I did the birthday coverage of her and my niece last year, but that didn't come out as good as I thought. So, I was surprise when they asked me to photograph her over the weekend. I knew I had alot of pressure, because I wanted to do very best job for her family. Mind you I was pressuring myself. After little into the session, all those pressure went away, because her family was so much fun to work with I didn't even think about it anymore and just shot away. So, I would like to thank Alieya and her family for the opportunity.

PJ and Family

Little while back, I got to photograph Pastor Joe and his family. Pastor Joe, PJ for short is my friend and my pastor for past few years now and they have been very supportive of my photography obsession.
In next month, they'll be moving to next adventure in their life. I can't say I'm happy about it, but at same time I'm very excited for them as well(make sense?). So, it was an honor for me when he asked me to do their annual family photo shoot. Which I ended up shooting more of PJ and his wife then I did of his son. Their son and our kids are friends and well.... they were too busy playing.
I think I could of done a better job for them. But I was too busy worrying about the background location not being the way I wanted to be. I know I have to be more professional and learn to adopt to my surroundings and making best of it.
After all said and done, I'm happy for learning a new lesson in professional photography.

Easter Sunrise Service

Early Easter morning, brothers and sisters in Christ got together at El Paso Grace Korean Church to have Easter sunrise service. This was a combined service of all the Korean Churches in El Paso. Christians praised and worshipped together and remember once again how much he love us. His grace is so amazing.

Microchip

Hmmm, El Paso is requiring all pet owners to microchip their pets. If you don't then you as pet owner will receive a citation. Although animal control can't go around asking for proof of microchip, they can ask if they are call out by your neighbor or by who ever calls animal control. Also, you can't lie, because animal control will be caring around with them a microchip detector. Be aware all you pet owners.

Personal thought is that now they require pets to be microchip, when are they going to require people to be microchip. Isn't it amazing how accurate God's words are? Be aware all you unbelievers. HIS COMING.

Day at the Park

Well, it's been awhile since we went to the park. So, we had out for park.... ofcourse i grabbed my camera(what good is a photographer without his/her camera?) My son and daughter was happy to play at the playground and my wife was busy assisting my daughter and ofcourse yours truly was busy grabbing frames. I can safely say my family is not camera shy. I thing they became immune to the camera pointing at them. LOL. I don't blame them, after all I have tons upon tons of their pictures. I love them so much, I can't imagine my life without them. I always thank my Lord Jesus for this blessing. Here are some of shots of the day.

TMNT

Yesterday, my son and I went to go see TMNT(Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle).

It was all CGI. This new version of TMNT showed alot of high kicking, action filled, good vs. evil. However, it had a new element.... FAMILY!!!

4 turtles(Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael), 1 rat(Master Splinter), Casey and April showed what family should be like. Yes, even the best of the family have fights, but when it comes down to it... There's nothing like the family. Love triumphs all hurts, hatred, misunderstanding and be there for one another when it really counts.

For what it's worth, we should all go and give big hug to our family and say thanks for being there.

tornadoes

Last night 3-23-2007 tornadoes sweep through New Mexico.
Tornadoes touching down on a city is nothing new, however when 13 in a row is not everyday thing. Logan and Clovis New Mexico got the worst damages. These 2 cities are 80 miles apart and even Bovina, Texas which is about 23miles northeast of Clovis got some damage. Most of the cities that got hit by tornadoes experienced power outage, flooding, property damages and some road had to closed. I have to say, I'm glad I live in El Paso. People think this is boring city, but thank God for the Franklin Mountain we have that we don't have to worry about tornadoes.

youth revival 2007

This past Thursday to Saturday I was covering youth revival for the newspaper.

It was held at El Paso Korean Presbyterian Church.

Guest speaker was Pastor Edward Kim from Los Angeles and the theme was

"Revival"

Alot of people showed up for the revival, each night

there were well over 100 people.

(that's alot especially here in El Paso)

It was good in my opinion. There were heavy emotion by the youth and parents.

kids were clapping, praising, jumping up and down with joy in their hearts.

Well, for all ya youngsters who attended the revival this posting is for you all.

It's always good to see or hear about success story, especially when it's about another Korean.
Last week, I got a chance to take some shots of Dr. Angie Song for The El Paso Korean Newspaper.
Dr. Song is a facial plastic surgeon. You figure someone like that would be all fancied out, but to my surprise, she doesn't use makeup and looked very natural. I always thought any ladies that look beautiful without make up is true beauty. Doesn't she look beautiful? This room is Dr. Song's exam room. Again she likes things to be natural. When she opened that curtain, natural light just flow right into this room. I could see why she choose this room for exam/consultation.

Kind hearted

I was looking up in a Encyclopedia for Jesus People,

and it showed the picture of this young lady. Her name is Jasmine Star.

I'm sure everyone on the planet knows her. Well they should.

Jasmine has to be the most kind person i have ever met.

As christian, when we are asked to go 1 mile, we should go 2 miles.

Well, she's a person that would go more than 100 times that.

I had the honor of meeting her at Radio Rally with Pastor Pancho Juarez here in El Paso.

Pastor Pancho Juarez is one of my favorite Pastor I listen to and when i heard he was coming to El Paso, I just had to go. On that day I took my camera and camcorder to get some shoots of Pastor Pancho to make him some photo montage and video. I figure for all he does, that's one way I could show my appreciation.

Radio Rally was awesome!!!! There was local youth worship band performing.

Afterwards, Moi rock the house. Their music style was very refreshing.

While i was taking shots of the event, this young lady came up asking if she can have the digital files of the event. I'm like sure, but who are you? She said I'm Jasmine, I'm Pastor Pancho's daughter. You should of seen my face. Especially when i saw her business card. Jasmine Star Photography it was written. With that I promised to get her the files and video of the event. It was sooooo cool.

After the event was fun too. Here's my wife getting an autograph from Pastor Pancho.

and me my wife and my daughter got a picture with Jasmine. As you can see, that was very memorable moment for us and still remember like it was yesterday.

Getting back to how nice she is; even now I bug her with question after question and she answers every question and helps me out. The thing is, it's not just with me that she helps, but to anyone that asks her for help. I'm sure if anybody who had the honor of crossing path with her will agree with me when I say Jasmine Star is the most kind hearted person on the planet.

Also it's good to read about how young couple could be so much in love. I'm sure JD will agree that he's the lucky man to have wonderful, kind and beautiful person like Jasmine as wife.

I've learned this and I want to log it here in blogger, so in the future I could come back and remember this. That one day when I'm in the position like Jasmine and I run into someone in position like myself right now, I should do all I can to help out a new photographer that's just starting out.

I thank you Jasmine and I thank My Lord for this valuable lesson.
